私は、ここ数日風邪を引いてしまい、久々寝込んでいました。連続ブログ投稿も40日ほどでストップです。少し悔しいものの、目標の1ヶ月は続けて書けたので、よしとします。
また気晴らしになるような読み物が綴れればと思いますので、どうぞよろしくお願いします。
季節の変わり目ですので、みなさんも体調にお気をつけください🍂

I've been down with a cold these past few days—it's been a while since I had to stay in bed like that.
My streak of daily blog posts has come to a pause after about 40 days.
Though I feel a little disappointed, I’m glad I was able to keep it going for a full month, which was my original goal.
I hope to continue sharing little pieces that might lift your spirits or offer a gentle distraction.
As the seasons shift, please take good care of yourselves 🍂

さて、今日は犬の話です。
Now then, today’s story is about our dog.
私たちの家には、かわいい可愛い犬がいます。
抱きかかえられるほどの大きさで、毛の量は多くもなく少なくもなく程よい長さ。
吠えることもイタズラすることも牙をたてることも意地を張ることもない、とっても良い子です。
犬は、散歩中に自然と友達をつくり、ファンを増やし、食欲以外はなにも追わず、毎日を穏やかに過ごしてくれています。
私とパートナーは、犬にメロメロです。
In our home lives the sweetest little dog.
Small enough to carry in our arms, with fur that’s not too thick, not too thin—just the right length.
She doesn’t bark, doesn’t cause mischief, never bares her teeth or acts stubborn. She’s truly a gentle soul.
On walks, she naturally makes friends, gathers admirers, and lives each day peacefully, chasing nothing but her appetite.
My partner and I are absolutely smitten with her.
そんなかわいい犬ですが、苦手なものもあります。
水につかること、ドライヤーの音、食感の柔らかい葉もの野菜、長い棒、歯みがき粉の香り、お留守番、初対面の犬との挨拶…などなど。
完璧じゃないところがまたかわいくて、愛おしい。
As sweet as she is, our dog does have her dislikes.
She’s not a fan of soaking in water, the sound of the hair dryer, soft-textured leafy vegetables, long sticks, the scent of toothpaste, staying home alone, or greeting unfamiliar dogs… just to name a few.
But it’s those little imperfections that make her all the more lovable.
観察していると、犬が嫌な顔をしたり、嬉しそうな顔をしたり、一つ一つ感情がわかってくるような気がします。仕草ひとつ、目線ひとつに想いが詰まっていて、まっすぐに伝えてくれようとするその姿は、愛そのもののように感じますね。
As I watch her, I begin to understand her emotions—one by one.
A displeased look, a joyful glance…
Every gesture, every flicker of her gaze carries meaning,
and in the way she tries to convey it so earnestly,
I see something that feels like pure love.
仕事から帰ってくたくたで原型をとどめていない私を、すぐさま人の形に戻してくれる尊い犬。
When I come home from work, exhausted and barely myself, she gently restores me to human form—our precious dog.
犬と私と彼とで散歩にでれば、風を浴びて、空の匂いを追って、土を踏み鳴らして、めくるめく景色を眺めて、木々のさざめきを聴いて、世界を一瞬で鮮やかにしてくれる犬。
When the three of us go out walking—her, my partner, and me— she bathes in the wind, chases the scent of the sky, stomps the earth beneath her paws, gazes at the ever-shifting scenery, listens to the whispering trees… and in an instant, she makes the world vivid again.
私たちのかわいい子。
生きているのをみるだけで、私たちは幸せになれる。
そこにただ犬がいてくれるだけで、もう十分すぎるほどにもらっている。
かわいい、かわいい、愛し子です。
Our beloved little one.
Just seeing her live and breathe fills us with happiness.
Her mere presence is more than enough.
She is our sweet, sweet treasure.
ああ、犬への想いを書き綴っていたら、かなり長くなってしまいました。
犬のお気に入りのグッズなんかも、いつか紹介させてください。
I may have written more than I expected, pouring out my love for our dog.
Someday, I’d love to share her favorite toys and little treasures too.
